Bailey Street Furniture Group (BSFG) was commissioned by South Western Railway to upgrade the cycle parking facilities at Southampton Central Station. The previous two-tier cycle parking system had become unsafe and impractical for users, necessitating a high-quality, durable replacement that would support active travel for commuters and visitors.

With a long-standing reputation for delivering durable and reliable products in the rail and transport sector, BSFG collaborated with South Western Railway to provide an enhanced cycle parking solution.

The solution chosen was the Easylift Premium Two-Tier Cycle Rack, the highest-selling system of its kind in Europe. This innovative system is designed with user convenience in mind, featuring gas-assisted lifting and a lightweight aluminium frame to facilitate effortless bicycle storage. The two-tier configuration significantly increases parking capacity without requiring additional space.

Installation was efficiently carried out with minimal groundwork, allowing the new racks to be integrated seamlessly into the existing infrastructure. The project retained the original glass shelter, which was still in good condition, helping to reduce costs while ensuring a fully functional and modernised cycle parking facility.
