The Wellspring Litter Bin brings together craftsmanship, natural materials and user‑centred ergonomics, designed by Robert Chipman, ASLA, a long‑standing Landscape Forms collaborator whose work is distinguished by sculptural forms inspired by the natural world. As part of the Wellspring collection—which includes benches, seating and tables—the litter bin coordinates perfectly with environments designed for comfort, wellbeing and dignified accessibility.
The bin’s body is constructed from handsome, durable teak, a hardwood known for its exceptional resistance to weather, fungal decay and wood‑boring insects when used outdoors. Teak naturally ages to a soft silver tone when exposed to the elements, maintaining structural integrity and long service life with minimal upkeep.
The Wellspring litter bin features a wide side opening that improves ease of use and accessibility for users of varying abilities. A hinged, powder‑coated top lid lifts to allow efficient servicing while maintaining a refined, closed appearance when in use. The bin is supplied with a 20‑gallon black polyethylene liner, which is lightweight, corrosion‑resistant and easy to remove.
Installation flexibility includes freestanding placement (with nylon tack glides) or surface‑mounting using a stainless‑steel bracket. This ensures adaptability for plazas, courtyards, garden spaces, healthcare campuses, senior‑living environments and hospitality settings where natural material palettes and human comfort are central to the design intent.
