The Plateau Picnic Duo is a smaller‑format member of the Plateau family of integrated outdoor furniture, developed to support social interaction in locations where full‑size picnic tables may be impractical. Its configuration features two benches facing each other across a central table, creating a clear, intuitive seating arrangement that encourages conversation and shared use while maintaining a compact footprint.
Designed for approximately 2–4 users, the Plateau Picnic Duo supports short dwell times, informal meetings and everyday use in high‑footfall environments. The face‑to‑face layout makes it particularly suitable for courtyards, pathways, learning spaces and social pockets within larger public‑realm schemes, where distributed seating is preferred over large communal tables.
Construction mirrors the wider Plateau range to ensure durability and design consistency. The tabletop and seating surfaces are manufactured from 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL), a dense, multi‑layered material offering excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture and wear. The supporting frame is manufactured from hot‑dip galvanised steel, providing long‑term corrosion resistance and structural stability in exposed outdoor environments. These materials are selected to minimise maintenance, with routine cleaning sufficient to maintain appearance, and graffiti removable with ease.
The Plateau Picnic Duo is designed for surface mounting, ensuring stability and security in public spaces. A selection of solid colour finishes allows it to either blend subtly into its surroundings or act as a calm visual accent. Its clean, graphic form reflects the same restrained, Scandinavian‑influenced design language as the wider Plateau family, allowing it to be used alongside Picnic O, Picnic L, benches and seats to create a cohesive outdoor furniture scheme.
