The Plateau City Chair is a highly adaptable piece of urban furniture developed for modern public spaces where flexibility, durability and visual clarity are essential. Designed as a single‑user chair, it can be used individually or combined with other City Chairs to create continuous rows, gentle curves or more expressive seating formations that respond to specific site layouts and social behaviour.
The seat, backrest and optional armrest elements are manufactured from 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL), a dense, robust material chosen for its excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture and mechanical wear. The supporting frame is formed from hot‑dip galvanised steel tubing, providing long‑term corrosion resistance and structural strength in exposed outdoor environments. This material combination delivers a seating solution that is both visually lightweight and exceptionally durable.
The Plateau City Chair is delivered fully assembled and can be freestanding or securely fixed using integrated base fixing points, depending on site requirements. Its proportioned dimensions offer comfortable seating for a wide range of users, making it suitable for both short dwell times and longer periods of rest. Chairs can also be stacked for efficient storage, supporting flexible deployment for event‑led or seasonal public‑realm use.
Optional accessories allow the City Chair to be further adapted, including armrests, connectors to link chairs together, or a small side table mounted between adjacent chairs. These features make it possible to create cohesive micro‑spaces for conversation, working or relaxation. Available in a range of solid colours, the Plateau City Chair can blend seamlessly into its surroundings or act as a vibrant visual accent, reinforcing placemaking and identity within urban environments.
