The Plateau Bench is a distinctive piece of urban seating that combines strong visual identity with long‑term durability. Developed as part of the wider Plateau furniture family, the bench shares the same restrained, Scandinavian‑influenced design language as the integrated picnic tables, offering a cohesive solution for public‑realm schemes.
The bench features a generous seat length accommodating 5–6 people comfortably. This extended format allows users to sit together in groups or at opposite ends, supporting a range of social behaviours within public spaces. Optional side tables can be added at one or both ends to enhance usability, creating convenient surfaces for drinks, bags or small items.
Construction is based on 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL) for the seating and backrest surfaces, offering excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture and wear. The supporting frame is manufactured from hot‑dip galvanised steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and long service life with minimal maintenance. These materials make the Plateau Bench particularly suitable for high‑footfall environments where robustness and ease of cleaning are essential. Graffiti can be removed easily, and no regular treatment is required beyond simple cleaning.
The bench is designed for surface mounting using concealed fixing points, providing stability in public locations. Available in a range of solid colours, the Plateau Bench can be specified to blend subtly into its surroundings or act as a bold design accent. Its simple yet expressive form allows it to function as a standalone seating element or as part of a wider coordinated streetscape incorporating tables, picnic units and other Plateau furniture.
