The Generation 50 Litter Bin extends the design language of the Generation 50 family—an ensemble that celebrates Landscape Forms’ design heritage through modern fabrication and material refinement. The litter bin embodies this philosophy with its elevated combination of warm wood panels and powder‑coated steel, offering a contemporary yet familiar streetscape aesthetic.
Designed by Robert Chipman, ASLA, a long‑standing Landscape Forms collaborator, the Generation 50 Litter Bin uses sculptural detailing, precise geometry and high‑quality materials to complement companion benches and seating within the same collection. The bin is available in two service configurations:
- Top‑opening with a hinged lid for ergonomic emptying
- Side‑opening for installations prioritising frontal access
With a 30‑gallon capacity, the bin is suited to busy civic spaces, promenades, higher‑education campuses, public plazas and commercial districts. A roto‑moulded black polyethylene liner is supplied as standard, supporting clean servicing and long-term durability. The base can be specified as either freestanding or surface‑mounted, enabling flexibility across hard‑landscape conditions.
The bin’s wood components may include ipe, jarrah or thermally modified ash depending on specification, adding warmth and natural presence to public‑realm settings. Steel components are finished in Pangard II® polyester powdercoat, ensuring excellent resilience to weather, UV exposure and everyday wear.
