Construction News Awards - Delamere Forest Visitor Centre

Delamere Forest Visitors Centre has been nominated for Project of the Year (under £20m) in the Construction News Awards 2021.

The £9 million development from Willmott Dixon on behalf of Forestry England, includes an eco-friendly timber framed visitor centre, café, event spaces, accessible toilets, 500 space car park, new cycle hub and a large outdoor covered seating area.

The project has improved the visitor experience welcoming over 750,000 people a year. Sustainability was at the core of this project with solar panels, a sustainable drainage design and rainwater harvesting all incorporated.

Bailey Streetscene are proud to have contributed a range of external furniture, plus a robust 15x7 metre canopy and the car park pay station shelters to the site. All the products were manufactured and clad in sustainable Scottish larch to coordinate with the surroundings and environmental ethos of the project.

The Construction News Awards will be taking place on 15 September 2021, celebrating 25 years of showcasing the very best in the industry. One of the most prestigious and coveted awards in the construction sector, winning a Construction News Award is a well-recognised badge of excellence.
