Accessible seating elements for newly redeveloped pocket park at historic York Minster

College Green reopened on Friday 31st March after substantial landscaping and development to update a popular space on the grounds of York Minster into an accessible and vibrant pocket park for visitors and residents to enjoy.

An opening ceremony took place with the Dean Of York, the Very Revd Dominic Barrington, blessing the park and cutting a ribbon - officially welcoming back the public to the area for the first time since it closed in September 2022.

Bailey Street Furniture Group worked alongside local landscape architects PWP Design to create an open and welcoming space. A range of accessible seating elements, bespoke designed and manufactured by BSFG, have been positioned running alongside the planting beds overlooking the new green.

The project is part of a wider renovation scheme at the Historic location - which sees parts of the cathedral being rebuilt using traditional hand-carved stone and a new Refectory building on the grounds which will be opening later in the year.

This new space will feature a continuation of the seating elements at College Green alongside Litter Bins and Bottle Refilling fountains supplied by BSFG.
