The TERÄS Lounge Set embodies the principles of Nordic simplicity, durability and understated elegance—crafted for modern public spaces that require both comfort and resilience. Designed by VE2, the series features a lounge chair and matching lounge table constructed from hot‑dip galvanised steel (subsequently powder‑coated) and powder‑coated aluminium for the seating and tabletop areas. This combination provides dual protection against rust, excellent performance in Scandinavia’s harsh climate, and suitability for year‑round placement across the UK.
The range is distinguished by its signature long, decorative slit in the seat and backrest—an identifying design detail across the TERÄS family, adding visual character and aiding water drainage. Despite its lightweight appearance, the furniture is robust: the legs form runner‑style bases that prevent sinking into soft ground such as lawns or gravel surfaces, and each item has sufficient weight to resist wind displacement and opportunistic theft.
