Plateau Picnic Round
Plateau Picnic Round
The Plateau Picnic Round is a circular outdoor table and seating system designed to encourage social interaction in public‑realm environments. With a continuous integrated bench and central table, it creates an inclusive gathering point while allowing easy access for a wide range of users. Manufactured from durable, low‑maintenance materials, the Plateau Picnic Round is ideal for parks, campuses, schools and urban public spaces.
The Plateau Picnic Round is a distinctive member of the Plateau family, developed to create a welcoming focal point for outdoor social interaction. Its circular form with an integrated surrounding bench naturally brings people together, supporting face‑to‑face seating and informal gatherings in both landscape‑led and urban settings. The design encourages equal access from all sides, making it particularly effective as a communal meeting point.
With seating for approximately 4–6 people, the Plateau Picnic Round balances generous capacity with a compact overall footprint. An 830 mm open access section is integrated into the circular bench, allowing easy approach for wheelchairs, pushchairs or additional loose seating. This inclusive layout makes the table well suited to mixed‑use public environments such as parks, school grounds and civic spaces.
The seating and tabletop surfaces are manufactured from 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL), chosen for its excellent resistance to UV exposure, moisture and mechanical wear. The supporting frame and legs are produced from hot‑dip galvanised steel, ensuring long‑term corrosion resistance and structural stability in exposed outdoor conditions. These materials are deliberately low‑maintenance, requiring only simple cleaning, with graffiti removable easily when required.
The Plateau Picnic Round is designed for surface mounting to provide stability in public‑realm locations. A central fixing point allows optional accessories such as a parasol or integrated solar lighting unit to be added, extending usability and comfort throughout the day and into the evening. Its clean, graphic form reflects a restrained, Scandinavian‑influenced design language that integrates seamlessly with the wider Plateau seating and table family.
