The Spencer Litter Bin is part of the wider Spencer range manufactured by Metalco, offering a versatile family of outdoor waste containers designed to enhance public‑realm environments. The bin’s structure is formed from steel sheet, shaped into a precise cylindrical, square, rectangular, truncated‑pyramid or elliptical profile depending on model selection. All versions are supplied with a steel lid featuring a central waste‑introduction opening, designed for fast, intuitive disposal and improved hygiene.
A key feature of the Spencer design is the patented Metalco slam‑lock mechanism, which allows the lid to be opened and secured quickly during servicing. Inside, a bag‑holder ring keeps waste bags neatly and securely in place. Units may be placed side‑by‑side to form recycling islands, enabling multi‑stream selective waste collection for high‑footfall environments such as civic squares, promenades, leisure destinations and shopping streets.
Spencer is available in powder‑coated steel, stainless steel or Corten steel, and many models may also include timber cladding for enhanced visual warmth. Fixing options include pre‑drilled anchor points for straightforward surface‑mount installation. Capacities and dimensions vary by model, with standard circular units offered in 80 L and 120 L sizes at heights of 800 mm or 880 mm.
