The Plateau Picnic Street is a refined variation within the Plateau family, developed to respond to the realities of contemporary urban life. Its defining feature is a slim, elongated profile that allows it to fit comfortably into linear spaces such as streetscapes, pavements, courtyards and compact public plazas. This makes it particularly suitable for locations where traditional picnic tables would obstruct movement or overwhelm the surrounding space.
The design is characterised by a continuous steel tube frame, forming a single flowing structure with softly rounded ends. This not only gives the table a distinctive, graphic appearance but also improves circulation and accessibility around the seating area. Depending on size, Plateau Picnic Street accommodates 4 or 6 users, offering flexible capacity while remaining visually lightweight.
Seating and tabletop surfaces are manufactured from 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL), chosen for its exceptional resistance to UV exposure, moisture and mechanical wear. The frame and legs are formed from hot‑dip galvanised steel, ensuring long‑term corrosion resistance and structural stability in exposed outdoor environments. These materials are deliberately low‑maintenance, requiring only simple cleaning, with graffiti removable easily if required.
The Plateau Picnic Street is supplied in two standard lengths and is designed for surface mounting or buried installation, providing flexibility to suit different ground conditions and security requirements. An optional integrated solar lighting unit can be added to extend usability into the evening, enhancing safety and comfort without external power connections. Its restrained, Scandinavian‑influenced form allows it to integrate seamlessly into both modern and historic urban settings while complementing the wider Plateau seating and table range.
