The Plateau Picnic I forms part of the wider Plateau family of integrated outdoor furniture, developed to support inclusive and flexible use in public‑realm environments. Its defining feature is a linear bench arrangement, with seating positioned parallel to the table rather than enclosing it. This configuration allows users to approach, sit and leave the table easily from multiple points, making it particularly suitable for high‑footfall locations and mixed user groups.
Designed to accommodate approximately 6–8 users, the Plateau Picnic I offers a balanced solution between compact picnic tables and larger communal formats. The open layout improves circulation around the table and makes it easier to accommodate users with pushchairs, mobility aids or bicycles nearby, without compromising seating capacity or social interaction.
The seating and tabletop surfaces are manufactured from 12 mm compact high‑pressure laminate (HPL), a dense, weather‑resistant material chosen for its excellent performance in outdoor environments. The supporting structure is formed from hot‑dip galvanised steel, delivering long‑term corrosion resistance and structural stability. These materials are selected to minimise maintenance requirements, with routine cleaning sufficient to maintain appearance and performance, and graffiti removable with ease.
The Plateau Picnic I is designed for surface mounting, ensuring stability and security in public locations. A selection of solid colour finishes allows the table to either integrate subtly into landscaped surroundings or act as a strong visual element within an urban scheme. Its clean, graphic form reflects the same restrained, Scandinavian‑influenced design language as the wider Plateau range, allowing it to be specified alongside Plateau benches, seats and other picnic formats for a cohesive outdoor furniture scheme.
