The MO Cigarette Bin is a purpose‑designed outdoor ashtray created by Federico Bonan and included within Metalco’s family of cigarette‑disposal furniture.
The bin is manufactured from a 120 × 120 mm square steel section, 8 mm thick, rising to a height of 1000 mm and mounted to the ground via a 250 × 250 × 8 mm base plate. The central body is enclosed by two 2 mm thick stainless-steel shaped plates, whose sloped edges allow users to safely extinguish and deposit cigarettes into the lower section while preventing misuse.
A key operational feature is the removable circular internal container, accessed through a front panel fitted with a triangular key lock. This secure yet simple mechanism supports fast emptying and reduces contact with cigarette debris. The unit is installed using steel wall plugs (not included) and comes pre‑drilled for anchoring, making it suitable for pavements, plazas, transport hubs, leisure complexes and building entrances.
The MO ashtray is available in hot‑galvanised steel, polyester powder‑coated steel, or Metalco’s weathering (Corten) steel, finished with a sandblasting and oxidation cycle. All fixings are stainless steel, ensuring exceptional resistance to corrosion—especially valuable in coastal, heavily used or urban environments.
