The Loop Circle is one of the most recognisable elements within the Loop modular furniture system, developed to bring people together through intuitive, inclusive seating design. Its circular form naturally encourages face‑to‑face interaction, making it well suited to locations that prioritise socialising, rest and informal activity. The design works equally well as a standalone feature or as part of a wider Loop seating arrangement.
Manufactured from rotation‑moulded polyethylene with a wall thickness of approximately 6–7 mm, the Loop Circle is engineered for long‑term outdoor use in demanding environments. The material is UV‑resistant, impact‑resistant and weather‑resilient, ensuring consistent performance and appearance over time. A lightly textured surface finish, created during the moulding process, improves grip and reduces slip risk, making the seating suitable for all age groups. The unit is moulded in one piece, providing inherent structural strength and durability.
With an external diameter of approximately 1800 mm and internal opening, the Loop Circle comfortably accommodates 4–6 people seated within the ring, with additional informal seating possible around the outside edge. This inclusive layout allows users to sit, lean, rest or move within and around the furniture, supporting a variety of social behaviours. Loop Circle is particularly effective in schools and playgrounds, where it can also be used as a playful seating and movement element.
Installation options are flexible. The Loop Circle can be freestanding when weighted internally with water or sand, or it can be securely fixed to the ground or surface using brackets, depending on site requirements. Maintenance demands are minimal: the polyethylene surface withstands most cleaning agents, can be pressure‑washed, and its colour can be refreshed if required. Recycled polyethylene versions are available, supporting circular‑economy and sustainability objectives in public‑realm projects.
