The Loop Circle Light is a multifunctional piece of public‑realm furniture that merges seating and lighting into a single, cohesive form. By integrating an internal LED light source within a circular seating element, it extends the usability of outdoor spaces into the evening while maintaining a calm, inclusive atmosphere. During daylight hours it operates as informal seating; after dark it becomes a softly glowing landmark that invites continued use.
The structure is manufactured from rotation‑moulded polyethylene with a wall thickness of approximately 6–7 mm, providing excellent resistance to weathering, UV exposure and impact. The material is translucent, allowing light to diffuse evenly through the body of the seating element and create uniform illumination without glare. A lightly textured surface finish improves grip and reduces slip risk, ensuring safe use in high‑footfall environments. The unit is moulded in one piece for strength, durability and visual clarity.
With an external diameter of approximately 1800 mm and a seating height of 400 mm, the Loop Circle Light comfortably accommodates 4–6 users inside the circular bench, with additional informal seating possible around the outside edge. This inclusive layout supports a range of postures and activities, from resting and socialising to informal play. The integrated LED lighting is designed to provide low‑level ambient illumination, helping define space and improve nighttime visibility without overpowering surrounding lighting schemes.
The Loop Circle Light can be installed using surface mounting, ground fixing or internal ballasting with sand or water, allowing flexibility for both temporary and permanent installations. Electrical connection is routed internally through a protected access point, and the lighting system is rated for outdoor use. Maintenance requirements are minimal: the polyethylene surface withstands most cleaning agents, can be pressure‑washed, and its colour and translucency can be refreshed if required over time. Recycled polyethylene variants are available, supporting circular‑economy and sustainability objectives in public‑realm projects.
