Loop Arc
The Loop Arc is a key component of the Loop modular furniture system, developed to introduce curvature, movement and informal social interaction into outdoor environments. Formed as a curved seating module, Loop Arc allows designers to move away from rigid linear layouts and instead create circular hubs, open arcs or serpentine seating forms that naturally encourage gathering and interaction.
Manufactured from rotation‑moulded polyethylene with a thickness of approximately 6–7 mm, the Loop Arc delivers excellent durability in demanding outdoor conditions. The material is UV‑resistant, impact‑resistant and weather‑resilient, making it suitable for high‑footfall public environments. A lightly textured surface finish, created during the moulding process, improves grip and reduces slip risk, increasing safety for both seated and active use. Each unit is moulded in one piece, ensuring structural strength and a clean visual appearance.
A single Loop Arc module provides seating for approximately 3–4 people, while multiple modules can be combined to create a wide variety of configurations. For example, three Arc modules can form a complete circular seating arrangement, while two or more units can create open “C” or “S”‑shaped forms. Loop Arc units can also be combined with Loop Corner or Loop Line elements to shape spaces such as playgrounds, sandpits, ball courts or informal gathering zones.
Installation options include freestanding placement, weighting internally with water or sand, or ground or surface fixing using brackets, allowing deployment to suit a wide range of site conditions and security requirements. Maintenance is minimal: the surface withstands most cleaning agents, can be pressure‑washed, and its colour can be refreshed if required. Recycled polyethylene versions are available, supporting circular‑economy and sustainability objectives in public‑realm projects.
