The Heron Shelter is a highly adaptable canopy solution engineered to meet the practical demands of modern public‑realm, commercial and educational environments. Its distinctive cantilevered design, supported by powder‑coated or galvanised steel beams at the rear, creates an open and uncluttered space beneath the shelter, improving accessibility and ease of use.
The roof features a tilted flat (monopitch) profile, clad with PET or multiwall polycarbonate panels that provide effective protection from rain while allowing natural light to pass through. This configuration also directs water runoff to the rear of the structure, helping to keep pedestrian and cycle areas dry and clear of obstructions.
Manufactured from steel and produced in accordance with BS EN 1090, the Heron Shelter delivers robust structural performance with low ongoing maintenance requirements. The frame can be hot‑dip galvanised as standard and optionally powder coated in a wide range of RAL colours, enabling the shelter to be visually integrated into a variety of architectural contexts. Roof cladding is available in polyethilene or polycarbonate depending on project needs.
The Heron Shelter is supplied as a modular system, with a standard bay size that can be extended lengthwise in 4m modules. This flexibility allows the shelter to operate as anything from a compact canopy to a continuous covered walkway. Typical applications include cycle shelters, smoking or vaping areas, pedestrian walkways, retail park canopies, education campuses and healthcare facilities.
