EGEDAL MILJØ 2 E Litter Bin
EGEDAL MILJØ 2 E Litter Bin
Designed by Danish design studio VE2 in collaboration with HITSA, the Egedal Miljø 2 recycling bin has been developed to encourage effective waste sorting in public realm environments through a combination of strong visual identity and practical functionality. As a sister company to BSFG within the CROWD group, HITSA brings together proven manufacturing expertise and design‑led thinking in this modular recycling system.
Egedal Miljø 2 is manufactured from hot‑dip galvanised steel and can be supplied either in a natural galvanised finish or powder‑coated in any RAL colour. The top, casing and front panel can be colour‑coordinated to support architectural design concepts or clearly communicate waste fractions. Robust materials and a timeless design ensure long‑term performance in exposed outdoor environments, including resistance to wind, weather and the demands of daily public use.
The system is fully modular, allowing recycling stations to be configured with 2, 3 or 4 modules in a single row, or 4, 6 or 8 modules in a double‑row arrangement. Each module provides an 80‑litre capacity, and additional modules can be added or removed as waste‑sorting needs change. This adaptability allows Egedal Miljø 2 to respond to evolving legislation, operational requirements and user behaviour over time.
Designed with maintenance efficiency in mind, each module features double swing access, with both the access hatch and the bag holder opening outward. This allows service staff to empty the bin without lifting, improving health and safety and reducing servicing time. The front panel provides clear space for waste‑sorting pictograms, which can be easily replaced if recycling fractions are updated. Egedal Miljø 2 can also be prepared for the integration of fill‑level sensors to support data‑driven maintenance strategies.
As part of the EGEDAL family, Egedal Miljø 2 can be specified alongside other EGEDAL litter bins to achieve a consistent visual language across public realm schemes. It is particularly well suited to pedestrian streets, parks, transport environments and civic spaces where flexible, future‑proof recycling infrastructure is required.
