Designed by French architect Marc Aurel, the bin draws on botanical inspiration, expressed through its laser‑cut, flora‑patterned steel body, creating both visual interest and a sense of organic integration within urban settings.
Its conical steel sheet structure provides structural strength, vandal resistance and long‑term durability, making it suitable for intensive outdoor public use. The top is fitted with a steel sheet cover featuring a central circular opening, providing intuitive waste insertion while minimising exposure to rain. The cover is supported by a spring‑steel blade slam‑lock and pivots open using a concealed hinge system for quick, efficient emptying.
Inside the unit sits a removable steel liner equipped with a steel handle, enabling clean servicing and safe waste handling with minimal downtime for maintenance teams. Conga’s distinctive form and surface patterning allow it to serve as a sculptural piece within streetscapes, complementing both contemporary and natural environments.
