The Birley Canopy is a refined canopy solution developed to enhance and protect outdoor spaces across education, commercial and public‑realm environments. Its freestanding monopitch design allows the structure to operate independently of existing buildings, making it ideal for projects where structural fixings are undesirable or impractical.
The primary structure consists of steel beams manufactured to BS EN 1090 standards, providing strength and long‑term durability. These beams are partially clad with a choice of softwood or hardwood timber, creating a warm, contemporary aesthetic that integrates well with both modern and traditional settings. The timber supports a roof frame that is clad as standard with multiwall polycarbonate, delivering effective weather protection while allowing natural daylight beneath the canopy.
The monopitch roof profile ensures efficient water run‑off and can be supplied with optional guttering where required. The clean, minimal structure maximises usable space beneath the canopy, encouraging year‑round use of outdoor areas while maintaining an open and uncluttered appearance. Bespoke sizes are available, allowing the Birley Canopy to be tailored precisely to site conditions and project requirements.
